Taos Calendar of Events
There is no lack of things to do in Taos year round, and the town has a great selection of annual festivals and events offered by many organizations. This list provides a few highlights of what is available, but there are many more events and new ones are added frequently.
Taos Winter Wine Festival – January
Enjoy tastings, seminars and special dinners in Taos and at Taos Ski Valley. 30 world class wineries will feature their best wines at several events.
Taos Shortz Film Fest – March
This film festival features quality, juried short films from around the world. A wide variety of filmmakers participate, from local New Mexico talent to award winning global entrants.
Taos Pueblo Pow Wow – July
During this 3-day Native American celebration, top dancers compete to win recognition and prizes.
Fiestas de Taos – July
The community hosts this celebration of cuisine, music and fellowship honoring the two patron saints of Taos, Santa Ana and Santiago. Many festivities occur at the Taos Plaza downtown.
Taos Autumn Run Car Show – Late August
Celebrate all things related to cars, from hot rods to custom cars to classics!
Taos Fall Arts Festival – Late September to early October
This is the oldest art festival in Taos, combining two major art shows. More than 250 Taos County artists are represented and proceeds benefit art programs for Taos County children.
Taos Storyteller Festival – October
Award winning storytellers gather at the Taos Center for the Arts and enthrall audiences with many amazing tales.
Taos Wool Festival – October
Come see live demonstrations, a fantastic regional wool market, competitions and get a closer look at the animals that provide material for the artisans.
Taos Balloon Rally – late October
Taos hosts a colorful balloon rally set against the bright autumn sunshine. The rally has 35-50 balloons each year, and provides easy access to get close to the action each morning.
